Founded in 1971, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (SBHF) raises money to support patient care and research at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. It granted $8.2m to the hospital in 2024.
Patient care received 72% ($5.9m) of program spending in 2024. The charity funds the purchase of new equipment for the hospital. In 2024, SBHF purchased a new mobile fluoroscopic C-arm and an Abbott ViewMate ultrasound system. The C-arm uses x-rays to give high-definition pictures of blood vessels during minimally invasive procedures. The new ultrasound system lets doctors see the heart from within which helps during surgery. Although Ci could not find complete beneficiary data, the charity reports nearly 42,000 patients visited the hospital’s emergency department in 2024.
